Planning for the Future
Fiber project begins to expand bandwidth for future use.
In August of 2007, we will have fiber serving our bandwidth needs between
our Network Operations Center(NOC) and CHS and CMS, all elementary schools..
This will open the door to more online and video applications that we
currently cannot support because of bandwidth issues.
One of the resources that is being talked about as being made available to
K-20 is Internet2. At the present time it is only available to
colleges and universities. The links below will give you additional

SAFE SEARCH ENGINE
Tired of your internet searches
retrieving 100,000+ pages of irrelevant information?
Tired of clicking on page links only to find it is just someone's opinion?
The State of Tennessee has purchased
netTrekker for teachers, students and
parents. This will allow safe, relevant search results that are tied
directly to state standards.
Watch for information from your child’s school that will show you how to
sign up and use this
valuable

Online Training for Teachers,
Students, and Parents

parents. Over 9000 tutorials in 56 software packages are
available. Training is included on all the popular Microsoft products, web
design products, and multimedia applications for both the PC and Macintosh
platforms. You may visit
www.atomiclearning.com and take a free tour. If you want to go beyond
the tour, you will need the ID and Password assigned to your school or the
school of your child. You may contact your school secretary for these.
Online Information for Parents
Cleveland High School and Cleveland Middle School are
using
K12 Planet as a tool to provide
attendance and grade information to parents online. The program allows
parents to log on to their child's information and see assignments, grades,
and attendance figures at any time.
Parents must fill out a
permission form
to allow participation in
this program. Click the name of the school or check the
Cleveland High School and
Cleveland Middle School web sites for this form, or watch for correspondence
from your child’s school. A
users guide is available online for parents
and an information guide on
protecting a child's privacy.
