This is the one of the viruses that does not use email as its conduit.  It is highly likely that it is infecting student machines as well.

Netsky attacks via email - Netsky fix
The Netsky virus will appear as an email from ssupport@symantec.com.  It will try to tell you that the sample file you sent contained a virus called buppa.k.  It will ask you to update your virus scanner with the attached file.  THAT FILE IS THE VIRUS.  DO NOT OPEN THE EMAIL.  THROW IT IN THE TRASH AND EMPTY YOUR TRASH.
