Create a New Class File

 

  1. Click the Open Class icon on the toolbar
  2. Double-click on the "G" drive
  3. Double-click on the "Generic Templates" folder (this folder may appear as "_templates" in the list).
  4. Select the template that represents the term(s) you will have this class and click OK.  Click "Yes" to the message to make a copy of this template.

Note: The template named Sem1Gen contains a semester 1 exam, the template name Sem1Tsp does not.

  1. From the File menu, select Import Roster
  2. Double-click on your folder and select the class roster you wish to import. (You will need the print out of your class roster to determine what period and section number this class is. 
  3. Look at your roster printout, it will have the class name, section number, period, and term.  If you look at the list of rosters to import the class name will be something like this:

 Life Science (1), (1,2) Wilson

This means that this is Section 1 of this class and is taught in terms 1 & 2 by Wilson.

  1. From the File menu, select Save Class As
  2. Look at your printed roster and find out what period this class is taught.  You should name your classes as follows:

 LSP1S1.cls

This indicates that this is Life Science Period 1 Semester 1.

Note: Please limit the class file name to eight characters or less.

  1. Type in the name of your class and click OK.
  2. From the Class menu select, Set Password
  3. Type in your 4-digit password that you use for the Attendance program in both boxes.
  4. From the Class menu, select Report Headings
  5. Type in the name of the class as you would like it to appear on your reports and type your name in the box for the teacher name.
  6. Click the Save Class icon on the toolbar

 

You are now ready to enter assignments.
