Verify Grading Period Information

If your grades are not calculating as expected:

1. Open the class file
2. Select Grading Periods from the Class menu
3. Verify that the weights in each grading period is correct

· 1^st 9 weeks should be 3/7 of the grade = 42.8

· 2^nd 9 weeks should be 3/7 of the grade = 42.8

· Semester exam should be 1/7 of the grade = 14.2

4. Verify that the Extra Credit check box is not checked – this would make the entire grading period extra credit
5. Verify that the “When calculating grades” drop-down list is set to “Ignore category weights”

If you have allowed an alternate grade, verify that the alternate was entered correctly

1. Select Screen Prefs from the Style menu
2. Select the radio button for Grading Period
3. Select the correct Grading Period from the Grading Period drop-down list
4. Click OK
5. Verify the Alternate Grade and Percent were entered correctly.
